SISTER SARAH JOHNSON...Can you guys believe it's the very last day of October already??

Can you guys believe it's the very last day of October already??
And that I've been gone for almost 4 months??

I can't, it's bizarre.

Anyways, here I am in Nine Mile Falls, Washington where we have to travel 40 minutes to the nearest Walmart, everybody has a dog (and 2 ladies in our ward have over 40 dogs each), it rains every. single. day, and we can't go tracting because people in the boonies live in the boonies because they hate people and point guns in their faces when they knock on the doors. SO, here I'll be, probably through Christmas...
Which is ok! Because the ward is really nice, and we have like, 8 investigators, which is awesome! And the zone is super cool here. We've played all different kinds of basketball games today for p-day. Since we can't go out on Halloween after dark, we worked this morning and we get to chill all evening instead. It's a really nice set up, since people don't like us coming over after dark anyways. Also there's apparently a Subway in the city that gives missionaries free 6inch subs, so we've made it a companionship goal to find it someday. Also there's a Zips in 9Mile, which is like a not-as-good In-n-Out, but they do sell like 44oz shakes, and Sis McFaul and I have already gotten one. They're pretty good actually! I'll attach a pic.
One cool thing about living in the middle of nowhere, is that Washington is beautiful! There's a big river that runs through our area, and we get to pass it and cross it all the time. And with all the rain, the forest gets all foggy, kind of like a scene from the Hunger Games. It's slightly creepy, but really pretty!
Best thing last week was that we got invited to the ward Halloween party, and that was a great way to kind of speed meet all the ward. The food was amazing, and so were all the people of course :). Sis. McFaul did a really good job introducing me to everybody so I didn't feel like that weird person crashing a party. And we had fun listening to "Santa Baby" at least half a dozen times.... not so sure about that one, but alright! Haha
The most spiritual experience this week was that we got to teach a woman named Kitty, who has really seen a difference in her life since the sisters have been coming over. She hasn't progressed very much technically, but her heart is getting there. She cried when we asked her how the sisters have helped her understand Christ better, and she knows that there's something about the Gospel that can still help her. She's just also struggling with the idea of joining the church when her very Catholic husband wants nothing to do with it. :/ It's a scary thing to decide things without or against your family. But we are excited to get to know her better and teach her more. God always has a way of helping things work out. It might not be this companionship that gets to see Kitty join Christ's church, but she'll see it someday :).
Now we're off to hang out with some members that our district leader knows so that we can stuff our face with candy and stuff. Happy Halloween! :)

Love,
Sister Johnson :)
